Background

About Steven Lafleur

I fear no laboratory instrumentation. My background is in analytical chemistry; whether analyzing for VOC’s by gas chromatography, rebuilding the sample introduction system of HPLC’s or titroprocessors measuring particle size under tight deadlines, developing and implementing thermogravimetric methodology for lab technicians, assuming leadership roles on special projects, or troubleshooting the optimization parameters of an ICP-OES to meet the demands of an aggressive production schedule, I’ve had a wide range of experience in the implementation, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of many different types of laboratory equipment. Along the way, I’ve developed advanced skills in conducting effective training regimens, LIMS systems, the Microsoft Office suite and lab & chemical safety.Exhibiting natural leadership qualities and superior performance throughout the course of my career has led to promotions into supervisory and management positions, where I’ve been able to add quantifiable value to the bottom line of my employers by securing new and repeat business, managing costs and improving process efficiency, as well as successfully managing emergency situations to prevent injury and loss of capital.
