About Steven Larson

As a Physical Education/Health instructor our primary goal is to ensure that our students have a positive outlook on physical activity and fitness so that they can grow up to be healthy and active adults. My physical education program provides academic instruction and the development of life skills. The model in which we run our program is the Dynamic Physical Education model, developed by Arizona State University’s Dr. Robert Pangrazi. The model is aligned with National, State and District Content Standards for Physical Education. Each lesson is composed of four parts: the introductory activity, the fitness activity, the lesson focus and the game activity. The four part lesson provides a well-rounded experience and allows for higher rates of student activity time. This model is the vehicle that drives our students and our program to success. Additionally, our PE program promotes character, responsibility, respect, integrity, teamwork and sportsmanship. Finally, our program teaches kids how to transfer the skills they learn through sports and physical activities into other areas of their lives, and most importantly, have a fun learning experience that will last a lifetime.
