About Steven Leconte

In my role as an Outreach and Partnership Officer at the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO), I am dedicated to fostering collaboration and enhancing awareness of intellectual property (IP) among the black community in Canada. My primary focus is on engaging with organizations that support black entrepreneurs, black innovators, entrepreneurs and black investors to provide them with the resources and support needed to navigate the complexities of IP protection. Through strong partnerships, workshops, presentations, and one-on-one consultations, my team and I strive to demystify the IP process, ensuring that all entrepreneurs have access to the knowledge and tools necessary for protecting their intellectual property. I am driven by a passion for equitable access to IP knowledge that enables Black entrepreneurs to use their IP assets strategically. This motivates me to find new opportunities to engage and serve the Black entrepreneurial community throughout Canada.
