About Steven Lee

I'm an architect and San Franciscan who is passionate about the built environment. I've worked on a diverse array of projects including housing developments, community centers, theaters, and offices. I've even worked on mausoleums! My background is in residential design ranging from single family homes to large-scale multifamily residential buildings. About 10 years ago, I developed an interest in historic preservation and currently work at Page & Turnbull. There's nothing better than taking an old, neglected building and bringing it back to life! Architecture is truly a collaborative effort and I work with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to develop solutions to complex issues. I love to sketch up ideas and will often draw something when I'm in a meeting to more clearly communicate concepts and ideas. After being in the profession for over 20 years, I feel like I (finally) have enough experience to share and have recently started to mentor others. I find mentoring very rewarding. Every now and then I think about teaching. I started my career at CIty College of San Francisco, and it would be lovely to eventually teach there. I'm a public transit and infrastructure nerd, so if you see me looking at a utility cover or some overhead wires, that's why.
