About Steven Li

As a Teacher Candidate in the Bachelor of Education program at the University of Ottawa, I am building on my background in Computer Engineering (Co-op) to pursue my long-time goal of becoming an educator. My technical foundation, combined with hands-on experience in software development, education, and leadership, equips me to bring a unique perspective to the classroom. I have worked with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, React, Figma, and Salesforce in professional settings. In addition to my technical expertise, I have over seven years of retail leadership experience and am currently expanding my impact in the education sector. As an Emergency Classroom Supervisor with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board and a Tutor with the Learning Disabilities Association of Ottawa-Carleton, I foster inclusive and engaging learning environments, support student development, and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs. My passion lies in education, where I strive to combine my technical and interpersonal skills to inspire students and create meaningful learning experiences. Whether in the classroom or in technical contexts, I thrive on collaboration, problem-solving, and helping others succeed.
