Background

About Steven M. Kramer

I have years of experience teaching early childhood music classes as a freelance instructor (Music Guy Steve), in addition to having worked part in the Minneapolis Public Schools innovating music and movement-based academic enrichment. My standard teaching licensures are K-12 Reading and K-6 Elementary. I do music classes for babies, toddlers, and pre-kindergarten children, as well as mixed-age classes with or without caregivers present. I can be utilized in the specialist rotation for pre-kindergarten, and kindergarten offering literacy and mathematics growth through song and movement. I can support IEP goals in small group sessions and offer joyful, musical learning experiences for these children. I have experience working in programs for children with Autism and developmental and cognitive delay. I can be utilized as a reading specialist for Title 1 services, and deliver positive results by integrating music into my learning targets and instruction. I can co-teach with early childhood teachers and emphasize the music and literacy connection - supporting teachers with ideas and models. Finally, I am a guitar teacher and I have been trained and affiliated with the "Little Kids Rock" program since 2011. I currently have 44 child-sized guitars available to children at no cost, and I can provide individual or group lessons during or after the regular school day.
