About Steven Marquant

I believe that personal interests are essential making a position successful, which is why challenges, stimulating projects and inspiring collaborations drive my professional choices every day. My career goals are to keep making my work enjoyable, noticeable and profitable for me, the company and the community. Extremely curious, I quickly left my comfort zone to live abroad, joining the French Diplomatic Corps for 3 years. I loved the experience and learned a lot about educational projects, training processes and management. Working with local teams in different cultural contexts gave me a better understanding of others. The nature of my missions also gave me the tools to adapt myself, to think out of the box, to be good at problem solving and to work well under pressure. Concurrently, I did a Course of Management & Entrepreneurship, in order to complete my initial education and excel at leading projects and teams. Travelling also gave me a unique opportunity to learn languages (I am fluent in French, English, Spanish and intermediate in Portuguese). I also worked as a co-Director for 2 years in a French language school where I was in charge of a wide range of missions: management & training of the teaching teams, curriculum design, creation of learning contents and development of educational projects (selection, launch, assessment). Furthermore, I oversaw the administrative & financial monitoring and checked the customers' satisfaction. This experience taught me to be organized, highly proactive and independent in my tasks. I currently work at the Telefónica Foundation, at ProFuturo, a digital education program that benefits teachers and children living in vulnerable environments (Americas, Africa, Asia). As a Project Manager, I lead operations (end-to-end) and one of my main responsability is to collaborate with our stakeholders to reach the established goals, controlling deadlines and costs. I monitor operations and manage our teams in field, both remotely and going on-site. I feel very proud to be part of this project and it is very rewarding for me to work with extremely talented people from all over the world. All these experiences, paired with my natural maturity, turned me into an organized, reliable and open-minded professional willing to learn, teach and share as much as possible. Finally, I would add that my personal background and vision for the future lead me to fight for an inclusive education (democratization of education, integration of people with disabilities) every time I have the opportunity to do so.
