About Steven Mitchell

Experienced Plant and Operations Manager with transferable cross-industry experience in Project Management, Manufacturing Best Practices, Business Analysis, IT, Safety, and Quality Management Systems. Currently the Canadian Manager of Operations for EnQuest Energy Solutions in which I oversee the divisions of OFS and Westfab operations. Prior to my current position I was the Plant Manager of a manufacturing facility which builds mobile wireline well servicing units in Calgary. Over my 18 years with NOV Canada ULC - DynaWinch, I have gained extensive experience in managing all aspects of a mid-sized manufacturing facility. I have directly overseen the manufacturing process as the operations manager, and have also been in charge of multiple departments including sales, purchasing, engineering, administration, safety, quality, and IT throughout my career. I have combined this experience with my University education, focused on Management Information Systems and Manufacturing Leadership, to become a highly versatile manager. Notable Achievements: Successfully helped launch the iMaxx Prototype unit. Delivered a record amount of capital equipment in 2019 as Operations Manager. Project: ISO 9001:2008 Created and managed the DynaWinch Quality Management System. Feb 2012 - DynaWinch became ISO 9001:2008 certified. Project: CWB Certification - Canadian Welding Bureau Implemented weld procedures, training and testing programs, weld supply controls, control of measuring devices, and managed external audits. May 2011 - DynaWinch became a CWB Certified facility. Project: SRED Claims (Research and Development Grants) Recommended and applied for R&D grants in 2009. Obtained relief in excess of for Research & Development projects within the first two years of implementation. Project: MHSA COR Safety Program / Policies and Procedures Development In 2003 I developed and began managing the DynaWinch safety program. Achieved our Certificate of Recognition for Safety within 6 months after the programs inception. Program consistently scores over 90% in 3rd party audits. Wrote the DynaWinch policy and safety manuals. Joined the Partners in Injury Reduction Program (PIR) to receive discounts from OHS. Project: Information Flow Analysis Analyzed the organizational flow of information to highlight and remove loss of information procedures thereby increasing efficiency and reducing loss. Developed tools to interface with our ERP system to shore up areas where information was difficult to analyze.
