About Steven Murray

Having established a flair for dealing with contentious matters my career started in personal injury litigation acting on behalf of various defendant insurers in low impact minor injury or fraud cases as well as catastrophic injury matters. However, my passion had always been to practice in contentious IP and started looking for an opportunity between Liverpool and Bath so my wife could be closer to her family. Rickerbys gave me the opportunity to learn the commercial litigaiton ropes and within a short period I was part of a growing IP team, dealing with intellectual property disputes. The experience and confidence continued to grow and I headed up the IP team at Rickerbys, responsible for its direction and promotion across their two offices in Cheltenham and Reading. Following the merger with Harrison Clark Rickerbys, in a addition to continuing to provide cost efficient commercially sensible advice on contentious matters, I represent the firm on the Cheltenham Chambers of Commerce, GFIRST LEP and at a variety of networking events and initiatives. This has included developing a network in the Defence & Security Sector and a focus of Cyber Security. In Chambers & Partners 2015, I was named as an "Associate to Watch" for my broad experience in shareholder's disputes and professional negligence claims. Clients who commented highlighted my "personal approach" and described me as "thorough, willing to listen, and a good communicator". Through continued experience I hope to become a leader in the field of contentious IP and ensure the clients who need advice receive the best possible service and achieve their desired result within the shortest time frame and minimum amount of costs.
