About Steven Ong

I am an experienced Senior Project Manager proficient in driving £multi-million business case and project viability, underpinning complex technical requirements to enhance ROI from Cap-Ex, applying robust controls on all phases of client projects to deliver challenging projects within aggressive timeframes and budgets. I have worked within a number of high-profile financial services and local government organisations including Lloyds Banking Group, Aviva and the Department of Work and Pensions. Some of my most notable projects include managing the e-commerce element of Aviva’s “lift and shift” pension programme, managing change requests and matrix managing suppliers and developers during the project lifecycle, delivering the project on time and to budget whilst brokering on-going strategic partnerships between Aviva and the client; delivering the Department of Work and Pensions £3m online release of their Job Seekers’ Allowance system, engaging with multiple DWP divisions, tracking development and testing phases and ensuring the product was fit for purpose before transitioning into the live environment; and introducing a multi-factor authentication platform (Callsign), using mobile and hard-token technologies for Lloyds Banking Group whilst overseeing the implementation of a pilot roll-out of McAfee Malware detection products, chairing meetings to solicit buy-in from divisional end users to participate in the scheme and creating an implementation plan.I enjoy working within high performing project teams, attracting strong internal talent in matrix managed environments and driving teams with clearly defined goals. I work with senior managers, typically technical and operational, to define project timelines and align global business objectives.
