About Steven Pearson

Mr. Pearson joined The Aerospace Corporation in 2003. His career began in 1975 as a Naval Officer after graduation from the University of Missouri. He is a Surface Warfare Officer and served aboard USS Excel, Peterson and Merrill. On shore duty he was an instructor at the Navy’s Surface Warfare Junior Officer School in Newport Rhode Island. His last active duty was aboard USS Merrill, where he led the shipboard Test and Evaluation of the Tomahawk Cruise Missile resulting in it’s fleet introduction and employment during numerous operations including Desert Storm, Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. As a Naval Reservist, he was a CNO Briefer at the Navy Command Center, and subsequently a plankowner in the first US Navy Space Reserve unit. He retired from the Navy in 1998 as a Commander. Mr. Pearson's civilian career started at the Orincon Corporation, as a Navy OTHT Program analyst. In 1989 he joined GRC International and began direct support to the National Reconnaissance Office. Assignments have included a wide variety of disciplines, to include system engineering and integration, software development management, training/education development and delivery, and on-site customer liaison. He has authored several professional guides widely used across the intelligence community. Mr. Pearson served for 3 years as the NRO’s representative to US European Command Headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany where he spearheaded support to US Forces engaged in the Balkans Crisis. Mr. Pearson recently served as the NRO liaison to the DIA AFPAK TF where he is focused on enabling timely and responsive multi-int solutions for forwarded deployed forces. Additionally, he facilitated the dissemination of relevant situational awareness information to the NRO Enterprise regarding US and Coalition Forces requirements and operations. His current tasking includes NRO MID User Engagement Liaison to the NRO's Joint Collaboration Cells and primary support to the NRO User Needs Forum.
