About Steven Poor

I have a strong writing background that has served me well in creating clear policies for industrial safety programs. I am also experienced in developing and performing training. I have a degree in human resources. Specialties: Worker's comp claims management, return-to-work programs, SAIF EAIP, interpreting OSHA rules, creating safety programs (guidelines, training, program maintenance), investigations and inspections. I also have a strong background in shipping and receiving, with software experience that includes UPS WorldShip, Clippership, FedEx, and Echo Global. I was a certified forklift trainer through Ives & Associates for Weyerhaeuser, and have experience operating stand-up and sit-down forklifts, order pickers, scissors lifts, and Drexel lifts. Fluent with Windows, MS Office. In my role as the head of a musical tribute act, I have had opportunity to explore DMX programming, lighting design, digital mixing software and hardware. More importantly, I am managing an 11-person group, guiding them through teambuilding, defining and attaining goals, and working to support the team outside of their traditional roles. This has involved investing my time and effort in encouraging them in their existing skills and interests in new areas in order to challenge and energize them. This has helped them in meeting schedule goals and going "above and beyond" in their work.
