About Steven Reed

With over 20 years of diverse experience in coaching, counseling, ministry, education, and career services, I am passionate about serving people and my community. My core competencies are leadership development, fundraising, communication, and problem-solving, which I apply in my current roles as a small business owner and a university professor. I run Cascade Valley Baseball Club, an 18U program and an indoor hitting facility, where I help young athletes prepare for the next level of their career. I also teach Sports Administration & Recreation, and Facility Management at Corban University, where I share my knowledge and expertise with future sports professionals. Throughout my career, I have demonstrated my ability to multitask in high-stress environments and complete large-scale projects within time and budget constraints. For example, as the director of career services at Corban University, I secured a grant to fund a new student success program, developed and implemented a comprehensive career development program, and increased student engagement by 75%. As the athletic director and middle school principal at Salem Academy Christian Schools, I oversaw the academic and athletic programs for over 300 students, managed a staff of 25 teachers and 95 coaches, and improved the school's reputation and performance. I am a well-rounded professional with a talent for speaking in front of large groups of people, as evidenced by my experience as a pastor, a firefighter/EMT, and a university professor.
