About Steven Sharpe

Steven Sharpe is Managing Director of The EmBeSa Corporation, Vice Chairman if K2Integrity, Executive Vice Chairman of Dundee Corporation and Chair of the Compensation and Governance Committees of Source Energy Services Ltd. and Crown Capital Partners (TSX).Recently, he was Chairman and Interim CEO of Madalena Energy Inc. and Chairman of Corporate Risk Holdings, LLC. Earlier, Steven was Senior Advisor to Blair Franklin Capital Partners Inc, the investment bank that he co- founded in 2002. As well, he was Chairman and CEO of the Prime Restaurants Royalty Income Fund (subsequently, Chairman of Prime Restaurants Inc.) From 2002 until 2007 Steven was co-Managing Partner of Blair Franklin. Steven graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1977. He spent his legal career at Torys from 1979 to 1986, and Davies, Ward & Beck from 1986 to 1998. During that time, he advised banks, companies, boards of directors and shareholders, on strategic, conflictual and governance issues. Steven co-headed the Workout and Restructuring Group at Davies. In 1998, Steven left Davies to join The Kroll-O'Gara Company in New York. As Executive Vice President, he was responsible for strategic planning and corporate development. When he left Kroll in 2001, Steven undertook the restructuring and auction of Security Technologies Group, a national security integration company. After closing that sale, he undertook the restructuring of a private holding company in Toronto. At Blair Franklin, Steven undertook a number of restructuring assignments for the firm’s clients. Since withdrawing from the Blair Franklin partnership, he has advised numerous clients, across Canada and internationally, on operational, governance and financial challenges. Steven is a former director of Foamex International, Inc, Prime Restaurants Inc.(Board Chair), Security Technologies Group, Inc.(Executive Committee), Altamira Investment Services Limited (Chair, Audit Committee), RMX Exploration Company (Board Chair), C.A. Bancorp Inc,(and CEO) Longview Oil Corp.(CEO and Board Chair), Advantage Oil & Gas Ltd.(Board Chair), Renegade Petroleum (Special Committee Chair), Madalena Energy Inc.(Board Chair and CEO), Corporate Risk Holdings, LLC (Board Chair), Essential Energy Services Ltd, Central Toronto Youth Services (Board Chair), the Child, Youth and Family Policy Research Centre (Founder, Vice-Chair), Camp Oochigeas (Executive Committee) and The Donwood Institute (Board Chair). Steven was a member of the steering committee which oversaw the creation the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health.
