I have earned teaching awards from Georgia State University (2011, 2012), Georgia Highlands College (2021), and the University System of Georgia (2023). As a researcher, I specialize in presidential rhetoric and institutional relationships. I have presented this kind of research over 30 times at regional and national conferences and published it four times in edited volumes on the presidency. My work has earned Top Paper awards at meetings of the National Communication Association and the Southern States Communication Association.
