I am the Director of Housing for the Amethyst Place in Kansas City, Missouri. I was the the Assistant Director of Resident Services for the Housing Authority of Kansas City from 2018-2025. I managed four federally-funded programs and one privately-funded program that provide services to Kansas City’s Low-Income Public Housing residents and Housing Choice Voucher (formerly Section 8) residents. During that time, I was responsible for providing funding for these programs, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to funders, as well as providing supervision to program staff and managers. Furthermore, I implemented new policies and procedures to ensure better service to HAKC’s residents. I was the Neighborhood Outreach Manager at Metro Lutheran Ministry. I managed multiple programs, including a Minor Home Repair Team and an urban orchard. I held this position since June, 2015. Before that, I was Outreach Events Manager at MLM, planning fundraising and volunteer events, and coordinating volunteer and donor relations. I was an Assistant Instructor and Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Kansas in the Department of Humanities and Western Civilization from 2007 to May, 2011. Before that, I was a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Kansas in the History Department from August, 2006-May 2007. I have experience in the business world in technical documentation as a summer intern at AGFA Healthcare. I have experience in working at the non-profit, good government Public Affairs Research Council of Alabama (PARCA) as a summer Intern. While at PARCA, I compiled the only accurate listing of Local Acts in the state of Alabama.
