Dear Employers and Connections, I am a fast learning, goal oriented, individual looking to apply my knowledge of Civil Engineering and leadership experience in the fields of consulting and technical sales. I am interested in many engineering disciplines and processes and I believe that my communication skills augment my technical ability. One day I would like to be involved in the research and development of sustainable technologies. In my current role as a staff engineer in the Construction Materials Services (CMS) department at SME-USA I help to facilitate the construction process by conducting on-site evaluations related to foundations, concrete, reinforcing steel, masonry and concrete and asphalt pavements. My responsibilities also include field and laboratory testing of soils, aggregates, concrete and bituminous materials, as well as generating pricing proposals for future projects. During my enrollment at Michigan State University I have completed courses in Civil and Environmental Engineering, graphic communication and material science. I have had three internships in three different fields of engineering, beginning the summer after my sophomore year. As a senior at MSU, I was elected president of the Engineering Student Council and acted as the Vice President of Finance during the previous academic year. I have also played on several intramural sports teams while at school. I enjoy the outdoors, sports, spending time with friends and visiting new places. To date I have traveled in seven different countries in Eastern Europe and Asia, including two extended visits to China. These experiences have helped to enhance my confidence in handling diverse situations and social interactions.
