About Steven Vigil-Roach

Good writing is a precondition for a successful business. Our ability to write is about more than being able to form a sentence, it's about our ability to successfully communicate with the world around us. As passionate as I am about good writing, I am equally passionate about successful communication. As a Writing Consultant one of the questions I find myself asking writers is,"what is it that you want the reader to know/feel?" Then it's my job to make that happen on the page. Whether I am teaching the formal conventions of a genre or how to build an argument, it's exciting to see another piece of writing develop regardless of if it is a business proposal or an academic research paper. As a creative writer and poet, I ask,"what can we do to elevate this piece of writing and make it something the reader won't forget?" because balancing the technical and the creative is essential to crafting written works that persuade, motivate, and engage readers of all types. Professionally and creatively, my writing capitalizes on form and organization as tools of persuasion and effective communication. I love using my skills to support individuals, organizations, and initiatives I care about whether it's a student, a business rep, or a campaign for increased diversity in the workplace. I thrive in innovative and fast-paced environments. I love staying busy which means I'm probably starting several new projects in my spare time.
