Steven Vincent is Senior Vice President, Music and Soundtracks, Disney Branded Television, a role he was promoted to in 2007. He is responsible for supervising the music used in original programming for kids and tweens seen on Disney Channel and Disney+. His job duties have also included programming on ABC Family, Disney Jr. and international platforms that, like Disney Channel and Disney XD, are part of the Disney ABC Television Group. Mr. Vincent advises and collaborates with TV series and TV movie producers on script development, creating original music, as well as licensed songs. He works with recording artists, songwriters and composers in conjunction with Disney Publishing, Disney Music Group as well as external labels, publishers and management. He shepherded the creative team's development of soundtracks and music that exceeded sales of 50 million units including the quadruple-Platinum "High School Musical"(the #1 selling album of 2006, the first TV movie soundtrack to reach #1 on the Billboard 200 album chart and to enter the Billboard Hot 100 chart with nine songs) and all music for the franchise with two sequels and recent Disney+ series. His other music franchises include #1 debut album "Descendants" in 2015 and two sequels,"Teen Beach Movie 1 & 2","Camp Rock"(spent 10 weeks in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200),"The Cheetah Girls" trilogy, plus "Hannah Montana" with two #1 triple-Platinum albums. Other series hits include the Jonas Bros series, Austin & Ally and Shake It Up. On the talent side, he supervised the TV music careers of Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Olivia Rodrigo, Jonas Bros, Zendaya, Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, Bridgit Mendler, Bella Thorne, Ross Lynch, Laura Marano, Zac Efron & Vanessa Hudgens. In 2006, Vincent became a voting member of the Recording Academy. In 2008 he was elected Governor of the Los Angeles Chapter of The Recording Academy and served two terms. In 2014, he was admitted as a voting member to the Television Academy’s Production Executive branch. He has also been a regular speaker at the Billboard & ASCAP annual conferences as well as local universities and music & television business functions. And in 2018 he received the prestigious Spirit of Excellence award from the TJ Martell Foundation. Vincent has a degree in Music Composition from UCLA, and studied film scoring with Walter Scharf, David Raskin & Fred Karlin while winning scholarships from BMI and ASCAP. He has also worked as a film composer, arranger, producer, conductor and musician.
