About Steven White

Steve is an established and recognized trainer in the field of emergency management. Providing instruction for Leadership, Safety, and CPR/First Aid education through MNSCU and the National Fire Academy are ways he has shared his expertise. His 33 years of experience with Fire and Emergency Management, EMS, Law Enforcement, and Safety provided him with the experience to become an industry leader who has a passion for educating professional's and developing their skills.Steve attended the University of Minnesota Duluth with a major in Criminology and a minor in Sociology. He spent the next 7 years developing a career with the Bellevue Police and Fire Departments in Bellevue, Nebraska. A licensed Peace Officer in both NE. and MN, he went on to complete the course work for Firefighter 1 & 11, Fire Officer and Leadership, National Fire Academy coursework, ICS.NIMS 100-400, and Conflict Resolution, Interest Based Bargaining. It was only after retiring from his post as the Emergency Management Director for a community in Northern Minnesota that he discovered his passion for providing mentoring and instruction to other departments. As an instructor for Century College and Lake Superior College he provides Leadership, Safety Training and instruction to fire departments in Duluth as well as the, Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area.A life time learner Steve also designed, coordinated, and implemented emergency safety management programs, team leadership programs, and cooperative work programs. He practiced outcome and solution based leadership skills when building, coordinating and disseminating teams in events of natural disasters and other incidents. Steve is a small group leader for his church and an active member of the congregation. He has been married for 36 years and has two sons, a daughter in law and two grandchildren. He enjoys spending time at the lake in the summer with his family.
