About Stewart Dalley

I am an advocate. I always have been. Whether it is for my own family in making it so that my partner and I were the first same-sex de facto couple in New Zealand to adopt children, or in my work as a union representative in the UK, or in my current role as a Partner at Dalley Sundar where we pride ourselves on our fierce representation of our clients. I pride myself on developing unique solutions to problems that seem impossible. I represented two women as they became the first to both be named as mother on a New Zealand birth certificate, I took the Minister of Immigration to court to answer for the separation of families during COVID - this is what I thrive on and this is what I do. I am considered a legal expert in surrogacy and family formation law in New Zealand, having previous been an adviser to the Law Commission on overhauling our surrogacy laws. I bring a lived experience to my work having three children of my own from surrogacy. I see and hear my clients' journeys because I have been there and I know how to help them realise their dream of legal parenthood.
