A team leading Production Technician trained to a fully rotational level which includes:* external operation of a chemical manufacturing/processing plant within a top tier COMAH site * central control room operations using a variety of DCS systems including RS3 and Delta-V * the preparation and isolating of plant for maintenance activities, of which I am trained to both issue and audit High Level hot work and Confined Space Entry permits. Experienced in identifying and rectifying plant issues, as part of a disciplined and above all safety conscious team, whilst ensuring compliance of high standards of health and safety are adhered to, and that asset integrity and environmental impact are maintained with a major emphasis on risk reduction, hazard awareness and above all employee welfare. As a Team Leader my responsibilities include acting as a technical expert especially in times of plant upset, and directing the shift team on a day to day basis by setting priorities and managing workload, ensuring maximum optimisation of the plant is achieved, whilst monitoring, communicating and progressing maintenance issues, which need to be effectively handed over to the oncoming shift. Also, I work alongside both the shift manager and training team to ensure effective training of new recruits is delivered, to whom I act as a mentor to. Supporting the Shift manager during site incidents is another key role. Finally, I am more than keen to improve, learn and progress, and more than willing to participate on projects which entail extra duties as demonstrated on numerous commissioning projects and most recently performing the role of lead permit issuer on our recent TAR and I am also currently working towards my City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Process Technology.
