I have just completed a 4-year apprenticeship in the Oil & Gas Industry with OPITO as a Production Technician with an Electrical Bias. The apprenticeship consisted of 21 months at College in Scotland and 2 years of on-site experience at Shell Bacton Gas Plant, Norfolk, which is a Tier 1 registered COMAH site that supplies approximately 30% of the UK’s energy needs. My time on-site was split between the Operations and Maintenance teams. Prior to my apprenticeship I have worked as a CAD Draughtsman, so I have experience of creating Engineering drawings and dealing with clients to accurately complete work within a set deadline. I am organised, conscientious and have a high attention to detail, along with a wide variety of skills that I could call upon. I am able to communicate effectively with others, allowing me to work well within a team or I am able to use my initiative to work productively on my own while remaining motivated. I completed Offshore First Aid, Task Risk Assessment & Authorised Gas Tester Courses between Sept & Nov 2014. I have a current offshore medical and I have completed BOSIET & MIST training in Feb 2014.
