About Stuart Cook

I work with people to achieve their goals and life targets through a wide range of sports, CBT/NLP. Through this I am able to help people who are struggling with there mental health and wellbeing. Through my own experiences of mental health and gaining qualifications around CBT/NLP and experiences i have gained throughout my career. I have seen a link of how you learn a new sport and the way you learn to apply CBT. so combining the two I was able to reduce the anger and frustrations I had with my own mental health because the physical exercise increased my endorphins and released anger in a controlled manor without guilt, this then gave me the clear mind to apply my CBT when needed. When you learn about a new sport, its about step by step learning and repeated practice so your body and mind can have muscle memory, so when you take that skill you have learned into a game or a ring, you need to be Intune to your body but also you need to be able to understanding your surroundings and what you can or can not control. This is just like CBT, you learn coping skills and grounding techniques as well as understanding how your thoughts, feelings and behaviours react to different situations so when you use them skills in your day to day life it is just like being in a sports surrounding.
