I am currently running my own successful business, Official Consultancy, which looks at performance solutions for sporting performance with particular expertise in Match Officials performance issues and have a strong insight into the workings of a Sports National Governing Body. I am now working with The England and Wales Cricket Board as a Match Referee and for the International Rugby League as their Match Officials Manager.I have previously worked with Sky Sports Rugby League commentary team, British Weightlifting working on their development and education programmes and The RFL on their Match Officials Structure and programmes, I also worked for the Rugby League World Cup 2013 as referees coach and coordinator. I also wrote a weekly column for League weekly, a rugby league paper, answering questions from supporters on officiating decisions in games.I left my role at The RFL in March 2013 where I had been Match Officials Director since 2002. Prior to this I was a Physical Education teacher and International Rugby League referee. Refereed 2 World Cup Finals, 4 Challenge Cup Finals and 2 Super League Grand Finals. Started refereeing in 1988 and prior to this played Minor Counties Cricket for Cheshire.As part of my role I was responsible for the performance of all match officials. This included coaching the full time referee squad which involves all aspects of sports performance include physiology, psychology and nutrition. I have now taken this knowledge and started my own business consulting with other sports and individual referees of match officials performance.
