Please don't call me a stockbroker - the job entails so much more than that."Over 27 years of experience in the financial services industry with the last 21 years at Davenport & Company LLC. While in college at age 20, I began my career in the securities industry in 1983 working part-time in the Richmond office of Merrill Lynch and in 1984 became a full time Financial Advisor. In 1989, I moved my financial practice to Davenport & Company LLC and later became a Senior Vice President - Investments and member of the firms Board of Directors. I am Series 7, 24, 63 and 65 registered with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). The experience gained during my career from numerous bull and bear markets - the "Crash of '87, the "irrational exuberance" of the mid-90's, the tech boom and bust, the credit crisis bear market of 2008, and many others - has helped me to gain the market wisdom to construct and manage portfolios to more fully address and meet my clients' investment goals. Likewise, the personal experience gained from raising my family, coupled with Davenport's financial planning services, helps me to guide my clients in the right direction. I view myself as a moderate risk taker, a realist and an optimist.Specialties: 1) Designing portfolios that include traditional as well as alternative investments. 2) Incorporating "risk-management" into portfolios through the use of technical analysis. 3) Income planning for retirement
