About Stuart McLean

I am an outgoing person who believes it is possible to achieve a great deal with determination and hard work. I am passionate about teamwork and a strong team player. I feel it is imperative to build and support your team ensuring that all the members are performing to the best of their ability in order to achieve the best possible outcome. My current role has involved me taking a lead in the promotion of work experience and supported internships around the local area and marketing this to feeder schools. I have been very adaptable to differing environments during my management training and Job coaching/supporting students. I have proved that I can work within different areas, with their various challenges and individualities. I have shown that I can work with different sectors and I am always willing to learn new skills to improve my knowledge. This has assisted me in developing and supporting others and continually improved my experience. It’s important to get to know the students and their abilities and skills and any issues and concerns to establish at how I could best support them in their placement and classroom environment. I am a good communicator with people at all levels and with organisations and external groups which has also been essential for assisting with employability opportunities. Good organisation skills are essential when teaching Pathway leaners because of the diversity and differentiation required to ensure all learners needs are met. I teach level 2 employability programme within my current role I fully understand the need to be constantly aware of issues surrounding equality and diversity. I regularly attend meetings and have regular communication with employers/parents and students to ensure a professional impression are given.
