MY BACKGROUND From feature writing for South West News Service where I cut my teeth as a journalist, to freelance writing and editing for local, national and international mags to B2B copywriting, my background has always been about making connections. I learnt to understand audiences, deliver copy and content they enjoyed, and (latterly) edit and design pages to suit them. This approach of connections meant I had a natural affinity for marketing. So it felt like a natural fit when I got my first taste of marketing agency life with Future Content. Over six years as Head of Content and creative lead for Future Content I found a natural home to combine my writing, marketing, editing, sales, and project planning skills in one place. With Future Content I worked with 60+ ambitious SMEs to plan and deliver cohesive, robust and successful content strategies across a variety of verticals from SaaS to FinTech to, well, all manner of areas. I even dabbled in Waste Management (no sh*t). Fast forward to today where, as a Senior Content Strategist for multiple Agency of the Year winners Transmission, I'm devising content strategy for some of the world's biggest B2B brands - HP, Dropbox, LinkedIn, TrendMicro to name but a few. Transmission has offered me insight into how a fully integrated agency operates. As one of the fastest growing agencies in the world, we continue to push the boundaries of ABM, data-driven content, strategy and communications tactics. This drive for innovation has created a positively disruptive atmosphere, and I'm constantly challenged with new ideas and approaches. It's a great place to be. Outside the business, I've recently completed Marketing Week's MiniMBA with Mark Ritson, and continue to develop my skills and knowledge as a marketer beyond just integrated marketing comms. I'm also a massive lover of music and cinema, I adore cycling, football, cooking (and eating), drinking good booze and the countryside. So feel free to reach out and geek out about any of the above.
