About Stuart Watson

Always keen to progress and get stuck in to new challenges, I completed my higher exams and left school at 17 to start as a trainee draughtsman with a well established, local ductwork manufacturer. I learnt a lot during my 6 years there, and I really do owe it to the team of experienced and knowledgable guys that I served my time with. An opportunity then became available further afield with a leading national M&E contractor, which involved being part of an initial start-up team within their brand new ventilation division. Our new department grew from strength to strength, and this was recognised by the board of directors, who subsequently invested in new premises, workshop machinery and even an 18-tonne lorry (complete with company branding) to deliver our new product! Nearly 7 years later, through staying in touch with a well respected ex-colleague and friend, an opportunity then arose for a completely new challenge within the marine sector. I spent 3 years with Aerius Marine UK LTD (formerly Imtech Marine) as an HVAC draughtsman and material coordinator for the Royal Navy QEC carrier project. This was a unique and exciting opportunity to be involved with, delivering the largest aircraft carriers ever built for the Royal Navy, and something I am proud to have played a part in!
