About Su McCluskey

Su is a highly experienced senior executive and non-executive director and is the first Special Representative for Australian Agriculture. She is a director of Australian Unity Limited, LiveCorp, the Australasian Pork Research Institute and AWN Rural and a Commissioner for International Agricultural Research. Su was previously the Chief Executive Officer of the Regional Australia Institute and the Council of Rural Research and Development Corporations and Executive Director of the Office of Best Practice Regulation. Su was a Commissioner on the COVID-19 Commission Advisory Board and a member of the Independent Review of the Australian Charities and Non-for-profit legislation and the Small Business Digital Taskforce. She was also a member of the Independent Review of CPA Australia, the Review of the NSW Regulatory Policy Framework and lead reviewer of the 2017 Review of the Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman. Su was also a member of the Harper Review of Competition Policy, the 2015 Regional Telecommunications Independent Review Committee and the Rural R&D for Profit Expert Assessment Panel Su has held senior positions with the Business Council of Australia, the National Farmers’ Federation and the Australian Taxation Office. Su's experience and expertise includes strong leadership, strategic thinking, financial management, governance, policy, advocacy and analytical skills. She has been a highly effective change manager in both the government and private sectors and has excellent networks across all levels of government and industry. Su was named the Westpac/Australian Financial Review Regional Women of Influence in 2013 and received the Women in Agribusiness award in 2014 for outstanding contribution to policy development. Su’s professional qualifications include a Fellow Certified Practising Accountant (FCPA), Bachelor of Commerce (University of Canberra) and Member Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD). Su is also a beef cattle farmer at Yass NSW.
