About Subhechha Chatterjee

I’m a passionate, impact-driven researcher who finds deep joy working at the intersection of education, research, and innovation. Understanding human behavior and centering lived experiences, enable me to humanize data and uncover simple, actionable solutions to address real-world needs. My work spans sectors and scales—from public education systems to corporate and civic institutions. I currently lead high-impact research initiatives focused on Washington State’s K–12 education system, including studies on isolation and restraint practices, public school funding inequities, and the development of a statewide, AI-driven data dashboard rooted in the 12 Social Determinants of Health. Previously, I led UX research projects for organizations such as the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia and several Fortune 500 companies, uncovering deep user insights to inform strategic decisions, enhance engagement, and solve complex business challenges. I also designed and implemented education-centered interventions—from creating interactive learning tools and active-learning content to supporting K–12 teachers in adopting tech-assisted, holistic pedagogy. Across all my work, I’m continually drawn to helping organizations identify innovative, research-driven solutions tailored to their unique contexts. I bring a mixed-methods approach to my research—combining formative evaluations, surveys, interviews, literature reviews, observational studies, statistical analysis, and policy reviews. I believe that addressing systemic challenges, requires more than just numbers and statistics. True transformation happens when we amplify the voices of those most affected by systems and co-design solutions with communities. My research process is deeply collaborative, engaging educators, students, families, and advocates to drive equitable, sustainable impact. I’m also deeply curious about how we can make learning more joyful for children. That passion inspired me to launch a bilingual storytelling podcast on Spotify, blending my love of language, storytelling, and early learning to support informal language acquisition in young children.
