About Subitha Sudhakaran

I am a Senior Research Fellow (SRF), currently pursuing doctoral research in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli,(NIT-T), Tamil Nadu. My research interests include Gender Studies, Folk Culture Studies, Tamil Cultural Practices, Indigenous Knowledge Systems, and Alternative Pedagogies. I hold a Master’s degree in English from St. Thomas College (affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University) and have completed an International Diploma in TESOL with a specialization in Business English teaching. I also have nearly two years of experience as an English language trainer, helping healthcare professionals enhance their English communication skills for academic and workplace contexts. I am passionate about learner-centred, culturally grounded, and interdisciplinary approaches to education. With a deep interest in Tamil folk arts and ritual practices, I am committed to understanding how Dravidian aesthetic traditions continue to breathe through everyday acts, collective memory, and creative pedagogy.
