About Subodh Mishra

I am Global Head of Communications at Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) with overall responsibility for developing and implementing the firm’s strategic positioning, reputation management, and both social and traditional media programs. At my direction, ISS staff, data, and research are cited regularly across the world’s leading business titles, including the Financial Times, Bloomberg, Reuters, and the Wall Street Journal. I also serve as a member of ISS’ CORE Council, which consists of members of the ISS Leadership Team and whose mission is to develop and support ISS’ corporate responsibility strategy, policies, and practices. Since late 2013, I’ve led public relations work for ISS and its four main business lines after having served as Head of Governance Exchange, an ISS platform devoted to fostering engagement among institutional investors, board members, and corporate management. In that role, I published and spoke extensively at U.S. and international fora on a wide array of corporate governance and capital stewardship topics and concurrently served as Managing Editor of ISS’ client newsletter, Governance Weekly. Prior to joining ISS, I served in roles of increasing responsibility at the Washington-based Investor Responsibility Research Center (IRRC), including as Analyst, Senior Analyst, and Deputy Director of IRRC’s Global Shareholder Service. Later, I served as Editor with responsibility for IRRC’s flagship Corporate Governance Highlights weekly newsletter and quarterly journal, Corporate Governance Bulletin. I hold a Master’s in Journalism from the University of Maryland and Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Vermont.
