After completion of my MBA, I got placed in Navinya Shipping services Private Limited, Navi Mumbai. It is a vessel chartering and the management company provides employment of the vessel by coordinating with Port agents, Vessel owner, vessel broker, cargo owner, cargo broker and vessel captain. My role was to assist with the daily operation of the vessel and calculating laytime calculation and voyage estimation and also maintain daily voyage performance in advance excel(V lookup).In this process, I have to also negotiate with clients(port agents) for port costs for vessel operation(loading/discharging) and also have to handle shipping documentation like(Bill of Ladding, IGM, DG shipping costal conversion document, EGM and Performa Disbersemenent Account). After handling operations for 10 months, I got an opportunity in TG Terminals Private Limited which is a Container Freight Station where my role is to handle daily operations, shipping documentation, daily reports of business and providing operational assistance. I have to provide daily reports for daily business of import, export and empty containers in MS excel(V lookup, H lookup and Pivot Table). I have to handle shipping documentation like shipping bill, Bill of ladding, Form 13(port document for export containers), bill of exchange, let export order, IGM(Import General Manifest), EGM(Export General Manifest). I have to provide a general CFS documentation for further clearance like gate Pass generated from the CFS system known as I logis software which is used by various departments of CFS for transport, import, export, warehouse, operation. I also have to be flexible in maintaining all the reports and operations of the various department from the CFS system(I logis software).
