About Sue Dando
Sue Dando was head of CBC’s flagship science program The Nature of Things for 13 years and is now working as a consultant to the series. Sue has a wide range of experience producing, directing and writing for television. For ten years, she was head of CBC’s Documentary Production Unit, overseeing many series and specials, including the award-winning international co-productions Africa on the Move, India Reborn and China Rises, as well as domestic series such as The Greatest Canadian and Hockey: A People's History. Prior to joining the Documentary Unit, Dando was the founding producer (1996-2001) of CBC’s biography program, Life & Times. Her earlier career included travelling the world for top news and current affairs programs at CBC Radio and Television (As It Happens, The Journal, Prime Time News), as well as at CTV Television (CTV News, Canada AM). Among her awards are an Emmy, a Hot Docs award, three Gemini Awards, a Canada Screen Award and a Dupont-Columbia award. Other interests include dance photography (website is suedando.com), arts, culture, cycling, books and anything outdoors.
