About Sue Davis

I have extensive experience in arts leadership, strategy development featuring participatory processes, curating/producing, qualitative research, teaching/facilitation, professional writing and communications. My work and projects focus predominantly on arts, education and community contexts. I was Deputy Dean Research in the School of Education and the Arts, CQUniversity Australia, and the founder and Manager of Central Queensland Regional Arts Services Network. This work built upon an extensive career as a teacher, policy officer and Head of Department. My research and creative practice interests include creativity and applied arts practice, engagement and learning, arts and sustainability, regional arts and cultural development and scriptwriting as research. I am currently Director of Strategic Partnerships and Board Member of Drama Australia, a Board Director for the Creative Arts Alliance and immediate past President for Sunshine Coast Creative Alliance. I have extensive experience in leading community engagement programs and participatory processes, in collaboration with various industry partners (Sunshine Coast, Noosa, Bundaberg and Fraser Coast Councils, Sydney Theatre Company, Patch Theatre, JUTE Theatre etc) and previously sat on the Queensland Studies Authority State Panel for Drama and Learning Advisory Committee for The Arts. I have published extensively and written over 60 articles, book chapters, books and scripts. I have an ongoing project and business called 'Wild/flower Women'. This work has involved curation of 6 exhibitions which have explored the lives, work and living legacy of women who changed the world through art!
