About Sue Engelbert

I have been with the Aquarium for over a decade now. I started out as a volunteer, working on the floor as well as behind the scenes. I am now a full time interpreter that is still out on the floor inspiring guests to conserve the world's aquatic treasures. I am also a member of a team that develops the interpretation programming for our 1.3 million guests that come through our doors annually. I mentor a number of supplemental staff and have created training for staff. Among the training I have helped create is interpretation and public speaking skills. My pride and joy is our Tots and Tales program that I have cultivated into a preschool program with stories, activities and up close encounters with our animals and their habitats. My former job as an Assistant Director of a small day care has helped me create a program that not only helps develop a child's skills, but introduces them to nature and fosters their wonder of the natural world. My passion for animals and education gives me a unique skill set that would be beneficial for any employer.
