About Sue Groves

I am working as part of the Apprenticeship and Training team delivering English and Maths Functional Skills to Apprentices. I'm a professional, enthusiastic and commercially aware lecturer/ trainer, who enjoys delivering many different areas of further education, including functional skills Maths and English, Healthy Living, Foundation Studies, Employment skills, ICT Fundamentals and Health and Safety. I am a well- seasoned assessor able to assess all my subjects and in addition have delivered Advanced Apprenticeship frameworks and NVQ's in Customer Service, Retail, Business Administration, Team Leader, Call Centre, ASDAN and Management. Committed to continuous development, I achieved a merit in the Certificate in Education at Level 5 and graduated in 2013. I have also recently retaken my higher tier GCSE in English Language in 2015 and achieved a B and Tier 4 in Speaking and Listening. I also achieved Level 3 English for Literacy and Language Teaching (QCF) I am very experienced in delivering short vocational courses in Customer Service, IT, Business Admin and Retail. I have designed, created and delivered Staff Training in dealing with complaints, call handling and customer service with the onus on comprehension of company policies. I compiled a report to the directors with suggestions to improve service and resolve existing issues. I'm dedicated and well organised, with a real passion for all the characteristics of teaching: including preparing schemes of work, materials design, organisation of sessions and facilitation. This includes preparing students for exams and I am responsible for registering students, booking exams, liaising with awarding bodies, invigilating Entry level exams and preparing and organising Speaking and Listening exams. I make a positive impact on organisational outcomes and student progression wherever I work.
