About Sue Richards

Working in IT for 30 years, in a variety of roles, has given me a breadth and depth of various IT disciplines, culminating in an ability to see the “big picture” of how IT is integral to the successful delivery of an organisation’s strategic objectives. During the last 10 years, I have channelled my experience into asset management and procurement methodologies (ITIL Foundation and MCIPS). I am a confident communicator with multi-level stakeholders (from 1st and 2nd line support, writing business cases and procedures and delivering training). I am used to working across IT teams – Development, Infrastructure, Servicedesk, Operations, Data Governance, Support. I am part of the incident management and configuration management processes. I have also been involved in change management (producing RFCs when necessary). I have produced workflow diagrams and processes for others to follow, and have received positive feedback regarding my communication skills, both written and oral. My last permanent employer went through a large amount of change, resulting in my being given great opportunities to be involved in several important projects: • Complete Infrastructure refresh (Supplier selection process and evaluation matrix) • Opening of a new centre at Leeds (configuration and procurement of all IT equipment) • Rollout of Office 365 (Researching and identifying appropriate enterprise plan and procuring licenses) • Mail migration from Groupwise to Exchange (Researching and procuring migration tools) • PC refresh (Auditing aging stock, writing a business case, procurement and overseeing rollout of new PCs) • Rollout of Windows 8 (Identifying applications for packaging in SCCM, identifying compatibility issues and procuring updated versions where necessary) • Mobile Network re-tender (Writing an ITT, supplier selection) • Mobile Phone refresh (Researching new standard phone, negotiating tariff costs, writing a business case, rolling out new devices to stakeholders)
