About Sue Weinlein

I’m a vibrant professional with 10+ years of management experience and a veteran in internal and external communications and change management. The way I see it, there’s one truth that spans my entire career, from newspaper copyeditor to creative director to corporate communicator: We achieve communication goals by understanding our audience. Whether that audience is employees, financial representatives, retailers, gamers, or the general public, engaging them successfully requires us to really know what they want and champion their perspective. It’s easy for this basic truth to get lost in the static, but the role of “audience advocate” has been the center of my professional philosophy for two decades, fostered by my early work at metropolitan daily newspapers. In addition to audience-centric thinking, my strengths include strategic planning and connecting across business areas. Making connections between business partners in different parts of an organization or industry comes naturally to me. It was how I first proved my value when I was new to my current industry, and it’s one of the things colleagues have found valuable about our consulting engagements in the years since. I have a passion for mentoring and team-building. I’m meticulous at channel management and project execution. And I’m driven to build better communication processes, for everything from technology implementation to workplace engagement. Although I’ve spent the last 15 years in the corporate world, I still cherish my old loves, sci-fi and gaming. I’m an active concert-goer and enjoy active summers in my hometown, Milwaukee.
