About Sue Wheeler

I'm an experienced marketer, project manager and event co-ordinator. I lead on the marketing at Somerset Community Foundation, a grant-making charity supporting the VCSE sector in Somerset. My role includes writing case studies, press releases, project managing publications, content creation and editing the website, social media, and promotion of our annual Surviving Winter appeal. Other responsibilities include creating regular e-news, proofreading, film-making and leading on events. My career started when I ran my own business (sales and retail) in my early 20s. When I left the world of self-employment in 2008, I became a full-time, all-year-round employee at Glastonbury Festivals, dealing with many, varied queries: from stall holders to the press to performers to the general public. My role also included marketing the Glastonbury Extravaganza and organising Glastonbury's Emerging Talent Competition, which I still do each year. Following my fulltime role at the Festival, I worked at Strode College for 5.5 years, where as Marketing Officer I took on the usual marketing responsibilities including booking advertising campaigns, organising and co-ordinating events (open evenings and college experience days), managing social media and writing press releases, etc.
