About Sujith Kumar Prankumar

Hi, I’m Sujith! I’m a medical sociologist and qualitative researcher at the Kirby Institute for Infection and Immunity in Society (University of New South Wales, Sydney), a postgraduate law student at Nottingham Law School, and an associate with the Australian Human Rights Institute.I’m passionate about advancing global health equity and justice. My work focuses on social difference, inequality, and the lived experiences of health and illness, drawing on qualitative methods, critical legal theory, and science and technology studies (STS).I am currently an investigator on several projects, in collaboration with local partners. These projects explore- The acceptability and use of point-of-care HIV viral load and drug resistance testing, as well as infant diagnosis, in Papua New Guinea- How recent evolutions in the law are shaping healthcare futures for gay, bisexual, and queer men in Singapore; and- Health and wellbeing experiences among multicultural communities in Australia.Feel free to reach out—I’d love to hear from you.
