About Suleiman Asman

As the Regional Director for East Africa at Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA), I led a team of over 400 staff across six countries and managed over 80 research projects on effective, evidence-based interventions to address poverty. I worked with IPA for seventeen years and have designed, implemented, and disseminated rigorous and innovative studies in various sectors, such as education, health, governance, and agriculture. I hold a Master of Public Policy and Management from Strathmore University and have extensive experience and expertise in impact evaluation, randomized controlled trials, and public policy analysis. I have contributed to the publication of multiple peer-reviewed papers and policy briefs and engaged with various partners and stakeholders, including governments, donors, NGOs, and academia, to promote data and evidence in decision-making. I also serve as a trustee member of the Permanent Working Group on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), where I support developing and implementing policies and strategies to improve the quality and relevance of TVET in Kenya. I am passionate about finding and scaling up effective solutions to poverty and improving the lives of millions of people in the region.
