About Sumayyah Shaikh

I'm a qualified Landscape Architect with a background in Architecture and a passion for creative problem-solving. With a strong foundation in sustainable design and a keen eye for aesthetics, I approach every project with both functionality and beauty in mind. My journey began with a Bachelor of Architectural Studies (UCT, 2012–2014), followed by an internship in 2015 where I worked with the Green Building Council of South Africa, contributing to sustainability assessments for new builds. I then pursued a Master’s in Landscape Architecture (UCT, 2016–2017), which deepened my appreciation for designing spaces that are environmentally responsible, people-centered, and visually compelling. Outside of architecture, I have a strong interest in fashion—another space where design, creativity, and detail come together. Whether I'm working on a green space or a garment concept, I’m always looking for ways to merge structure with style. I’m a creative at heart, driven by a love for design, detail, and sustainability.
