About Sumit Chaurasia

I am a highly driven forward-thinking Synthetic Organic Chemist with an over 18+ years of experience, including 12 years as a Postdoctoral Fellow/Research Associate. My scientific achievement in summary can be recognized through my publications, 22 publications all in peer reviewed journals and 2 International Patents with excellent presentation skills (4 International and 4 national conferences). Being a recipient of Marie Curie grant, one of the most prestigious fellowships is itself a sign of excellence achievement. My research experience of more than >18 years (including 5 years of PhD) leads me an efficient at project management, i.e. by planning the achievement of short- and long-term goals, tasks and work coordination and supervision, as well as on project budgeting and developed the diverse and essential skills required in a professional scientist such as combined management-laboratory-office experience, communication and efficiency skills, independence but ability to cooperate, maturity and leadership qualities. My scientific carrier started as a Natural-Product Chemist, later I also worked as a polymer chemist. I started my PhD (2005-2010) as a Synthetic Organic Chemist after clearing prestigious CSIR-JRF fellowship. During my PhD I was awarded many incentives for publishing high impact papers and my thesis was chosen as a “Eli Lilly best thesis award (2nd prize)”. During my Postdoctoral Carrier (Since 2010‒) I have been associated with various internationally recognized multi-disciplinary groups as an independent researcher and successfully juggled with multifaceted responsibilities throughout my career and have developed a strong expertise in the field of synthetic organic/medicinal chemistry and organic electronics. In my present multitasking role, as Research Associate I strategically working on optimizing synthetic strategies and delivering targeted molecules on mutligram scale to our industry partner alongside managing 3 different research projects and also simultaneously mentoring 2 masters students.
