About Sumit Das

With over 7yrs of retail operations experience, I am a Subject Matter Expert- Inventory Management at Hudson's Bay, one of the largest and most iconic department store retailers in the world. I have a Six Sigma Green Belt certification and an MBA in Lean Operations and Systems, which equip me with the skills and knowledge to optimize inventory management and allocation across various sales channels and categories. In my current role, I support the planning and buying team in deciding the optimal mix of inventory based on trends and forecasts, handle inter-store transfers, perform quarterly and seasonal sales analysis, and provide learning and development sessions to my team. Previously, I have worked with leading retail organizations such as Max Hypermarkets and Target Corporation, where I have overseen stock planning and purchase, promotional execution, vendor management, and digital site item management. Throughout my career, I have collaborated with cross-functional teams, buyers, and suppliers to deliver exceptional results and enhance cost efficiency and delivery times. My mission is to leverage my analytical and data-driven approach to inventory management to drive growth and profitability for Hudson's Bay and its customers.
