I have just completed the BSc (Hons) degree in Childrens and Young peoples Nursing, graduating November 2023 with a high 2:1. I will be starting my NQN position on the childrens cardiology unit. My professional passions include breaking down communication barriers to enhance the individual patient care journey and empowering young people to have their voices heard. My degree offered me the opportunity to work within various enviroments, getting to know and working with multiple teams in environments such as critical care, emergency care, surgical care unit, acute medical wards and community. I've had the opportunity to enhance my prior skills while gaining insight and knowledge of many other areas. Prior to my degree I worked as a healthcare assistant for a reputable children's hospice this job gave me a foundation of skills that I still draw on now. I also gained skills working in administration and retail prior to my healthcare journey.
