About Summer Helm

I am very good at falling up. As a film student I took a job answering phones at FortiLayne Productions. I was hired for appointment setting, but I ended up managing and coordinating crews for telenovelas, VH1, and the Miami MTV music video awards. A few years later I answered a (very suspicious) Craigslist ad for an office assistant at Malone Pictures. I accidentally ended up producing a feature film documentary instead, and traveled around half of the United States coordinating interviews with everyone from undocumented workers, to nuns, to the At Swagit Productions I tried to fix a small, broken editing process and unknowingly developed and created a training department. This experience in training led me to higher education, where I discovered a whole new world of content creation - Instructional Technology and Design. COVID finds me at Collin College, managing media creation and developing solutions for the ever-increasing need of virtual event and webinar coordination. I could write something nice about hard work or amazing intellect or super awesome skills, but I'm not a saleswoman. Especially when it comes to myself. What I will write, though, is this: I have fallen down more times than I have fallen up, and I was lucky every time I did. Because every time I fell down, someone was there to teach me how to do better and raise the bar higher, and it's because of them that I am where I am today.
