About Summer Herr

Growing up as a professional athlete, I am passionate about sports, education, and traveling. Sports shaped who I am and built my strengths. Education taught me to be proud of the lives I have touched and the differences I have made. Traveling opened my eyes and mind to this fantastic world; adventures are the best way to learn! I have over ten years of experience developing and managing global study tour programs. Our short-term educational travel programs provided life-changing learning experiences for students, and I was motivated by seeing the transformation in our students. I obtained an MBA from The University of Southern California, focused on global business and strategy. I am bilingual in English and Chinese Mandarin and have substantial working experience in North America and Asia Pacific. Career Highlights: In the corporate world, I successfully united two leading Chinese brands in travel and education to provide global study tour programs. Led the team and launched the program with 30 students from China to the US in 2005. Since then, the program has sent over students to over 40 countries for short-term study tour programs. Program revenue grew from $200K to $60M US dollars in the first ten years of operation. In my entrepreneurial journey, I founded three companies and achieved $5M US dollars in revenue. Developed short-team transformational education travel programs and managed the entire program cycle (new ideas, curriculum development, impact, pricing, revenue, recruiting, partners, marketing, admissions, contract and vendor negotiations, program operation, and feedback). Designed over 20 international educational travel programs and recruited thousands of students to our programs. Led teams and managed over 150 groups' global travel operations and logistics and delivered transformational learning experiences to thousands of students. I also developed and scaled strategic partnerships with educational organizations, universities, schools, travel agencies, hotels, and transportation companies.
