About Summer Huni

I am a current Primary Therapist at Valor Behavioral Health. In this role I facilitate group therapy sessions, family sessions, and have individual therapy sessions with individuals focused on healing from past traumas and/or maintaining sobriety. My passion is to help individuals develop a healthy relationship with themselves to grow, learn, and improve their well-being. My goal is to become a Trauma Therapist who is culturally humble and works with clients who have experienced various forms of traumatic events. My therapeutic model is focused on working from a strengths-based lens with an emic approach to tailor treatment for my client’s individualized treatment goals. I aim to use an integrated approach to therapy with an emphasis on conceptualizing a client from a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy lens while utilizing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Humanistic interventions. I provide therapy for the following presenting concerns- Substance Use Concerns - Trauma - Interpersonal Violence Concerns - Family Issues - Identity Development - Depression - Anxiety - Mental/Physical Disability Adjustment - Stress - Grief & Loss - Life Transitions - Interpersonal Relationship Concerns
